Foster and Gamko commended for ambitious SBTi target
Foster and Gamko have had their greenhouse gas emission reduction targets validated by SBTi, with the ambition of their 1.5°C-aligned target being commended by the validation team.
Foster and Gamko spent a significant amount of time working in partnership with South Pole, a globally recognised climate consultancy, to assess their data before submitting it to SBTi for validation.
This process involved a thorough scoping exercise to map our emissions and setting of our science-based targets to ensure that they are feasible. Science-based targets are a defined methodology that allows companies to set targets in order to mitigate the effects of climate change.
“We have commited to a 1.5°C-aligned target, currently the most ambitious designation available through the SBTi process,” said Chris Playford, Market and Development Director.
“We have started to make changes in our every day processes to reduce our carbon footprint. We're communicating internally, as every job is a climate job, and setting our path to achieve our targets. To monitor progress, we're establishing a European Sustainability Committee to hold ourselves accountable.”
