Wellbeing
With physical and mental wellbeing often closely linked, we work hard to give our teams the resources to thrive.
Mental Health First Aiders
Having completed training, we have a growing team of Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAs) who are on hand to provide initial help to anyone experiencing symptoms of poor mental health. In addition to promoting and raising awareness of mental health, our MHFAs can listen impartially and confidentially and signpost colleagues to sources of support.
Cycle to Work Scheme
Our Cycle to Work Scheme offers all Foster and Gamko employees’ access to cheaper bikes and safety equipment, allowing them to pay monthly from their salaries. A study of almost 265,000 people found that cycling to work is linked with a 45% lower risk of developing cancer and a 46% lower risk of cardiovascular disease compared to commuting by car or public transport. With widely recognised additional benefits of cycling reducing stress and depression, and the significant environmental benefits we are also proud to actively promote cycling with annual Cycle to Work Day events.
And whilst we can’t back up the saying of ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ with any scientific data, we do provide free fresh fruit to everyone, every day, in our on-site canteen.
Training
Our teams are trained regularly on office ergonomics, industrial ergonomics, health and safety and more.
