Foster and Gamko staff conduct beach clean
On Saturday 27th April, a team from Foster and Gamko, and their families, carried out a beach clean at Old Hunstanton beach, close to our King’s Lynn headquarters.
A group of 26 people, plus 3 wonderful dogs, began the beach clean at 9am with a safety briefing, facing down Storm Hannah to do their bit for the environment.
Nick Bensley, who organised the event, said, “As someone who spends a lot of time doing beach activities, including surfing, I see the impact of marine litter on the environment on an almost daily basis. I felt this would be a great opportunity to get colleagues involved and I’m really pleased with the turn out!”
Fourteen bags of rubbish were collected, containing bottles, cans, ice lolly wrappers, cotton buds, socks, roof felting and countless pieces of plastic.
“We’re very proud of those who participated in the beach clean,” said Nick Bamber, European Head of Marketing at Foster and Gamko. “At Foster, we are committed to protecting the environment and it’s great to see our employees doing their bit in their free time as well.”
The beach clean was in association with Surfers Against Sewage, an organisation dedicated to tackling plastic pollution and protecting the UK coast.
